Bio

Raymond Koonce, '85, was a standout in football from 1981-1984 at MLC. Widely regarded as one of the best fullbacks to play in Head Coach Don Watchorn's vaunted wishbone offense, Koonce is the 2nd all-time leading rusher at Midland with 3,104 career yards. His 1,380 yards rushing in a season is an MLC school record. In addition, he holds the school record for rushing yards per game in a season (151.5) and rushing yards per game in a career (83.9). He scored 27 career touchdowns and was a two-time NAIA All-American in 1983 and 1984. In 1984, Koonce was the leading rusher in the NAIA. He is currently employed with Union Pacific Railroad in Burnsville, MN. Koonce is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
