Bio
Max Kitzelman served Midland Lutheran College in several capacities within the athletic department from 1960-71. He was the Head Cross Country Coach, the Head Track Coach, the Head Wrestling Coach, the Head Football Coach, and the Head Golf Coach at various different times throughout his coaching career at MLC. He also served as Athletic Director during his stay at MLC, providing invaluable leadership to the athletic department and the entire MLC community. Coach Kitzelman served as the project manager for the construction of Hopkins Arena in 1969. Prior to his arrival at Midland Lutheran College, Coach Kitzelman played football at the University of Nebraska. While at Nebraska, he also participated in track and wrestling. At the national wrestling meet, he finished third in his weight class. Coach Kitzelman also played football in the Canadian Football League. Max Kitzelman is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding contributions to Midland Lutheran College.
