Bio

Dr. Twyman Jones, '56, was a letter-winner in both baseball and basketball while at Midland College. He was the starting first baseman and a starting pitcher for two years in baseball and led the team in hitting and RBI during his senior year. That year, the team won the NAIA District Tournament when Jones pitched in, and won, both games of a doubleheader. Jones also hit a home run in each game. In addition to baseball, Jones was a member of the Midland basketball team and was the starting forward for two years. He averaged 11 points and 10 rebounds per game during his senior year. Jones was named the Petrow Award winner in 1956. He is a retired coach, counselor, and professor. He is inducted into the Midland Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic achievements.
