Bio

Kansas speed merchant, winner of 10 varsity letters in football, basketball, and track, Lawrence Horn captained Midland’s first football conference champions in 1923, was named All-State quarterback in 1923, and All-State halfback for two years, 1922 and 1924.  He was an esteemed high school mentor, a much-laureled administrator, and a friend and tutor of youth.  His 35 years of coaching and teaching at Santa Monica City College are highlighted by the worldwide success of several of his students, whom he inspired and guided.  His prowess on the field and dedication in the classroom have earned his place as one of Midland’s greats.
