Bio

Doug "Smooth" Harrington, '91, was a standout in football at Midland from 1987-1990. As a running back in Coach Don Watchorn's vaunted wishbone offense, Doug rushed for 2,348 yards and recorded 522 receiving yards out of the backfield during his career. In addition, he scored 24 touchdowns and recorded 1,058 yards in kickoff returns. Doug earned Honorable Mention All-NIAC honors in 1987 and 1st Team All-America honors in 1987 and 1989. He was an integral member of the 1987 Midland team that finished the season ranked #16 in the country and earned a berth in the NAIA National Championship Playoffs with a 7-2 overall record. The '87 Warriors averaged 269.5 yards rushing per game for the season, which ranked 9th in the country. Doug earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education in 1991. He currently lives in Waukegan, IL, and has one adult child (DaQuoiya) and two grandchildren (Jadien and Jordyn). Doug "Smooth" Harrington is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
