Bio

Sam Guinyard, Jr., '88, was a standout in Football at Midland. A three-year starter as a Defensive Back for Midland, Sam earned All-Conference and All-District honors in 1985, 1986, and 1987. In 1987, Sam earned Second Team NAIA All-America honors. Currently, Sam is the career record holder at Midland in interceptions with 14 career picks. For his career, Sam broke up a total of 38 passes. Additionally, he recorded a total of 184 tackles - 100 solo tackles and 84 assisted tackles. In 1987, Sam helped guide the Warrior Football Program to the first round of the NAIA National Playoffs, playing Pacific Lutheran University after a 7-2 regular season overall record and a regular season conference championship with a record of 5-1. A catalyst in the defensive backfield for Midland, Sam led the way for the Warriors, holding opponents to 17 points per game during the regular season. Sam currently lives in Silver Spring, MD and he is employed with the District of Columbia Department of Transportation. Sam Guinyard, Jr. is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
