Bio
Winner of four basketball, four baseball, and two track letters, Denny Groves was the 1960 Petrow Award winner. He is the only Midland athlete to be the leading scorer in basketball in all four years of competition. Twice picked to the All-Conference Team, he set the scoring record for a single season and for a four-year career. As a member of the Hall of Fame, he is one of the first standouts in the modern era of Midland Basketball. A 1961 graduate, he continued in athletics in the U.S. Navy, becoming the most valuable player in the Navy Basketball Championship in 1965, and helped win the Interservice Championship. He was named to the All-Navy First Team. Now a Navy Captain, he serves his country and community as a worthy representative of the Midland College spirit and tradition.
