Mary Jo Giesselmann, '84, participated in women's basketball from 1980-1984 and in tennis in 1984. On the basketball court, Giesselmann earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in 1984 in addition to First Team All-District and First Team All-Conference honors. In addition, she was selected as team captain and team MVP in '84. She concluded her basketball career with 1,188 points, placing her 17th on the all-time scoring list at MLC. Giesselmann helped lead Midland to an impressive 100-17 overall record during her four years. In tennis, Giesselmann played #2 doubles and #4 singles for Midland in 1984, winning the District 11 singles championship. She is employed by the Elkhorn Public Schools as a Special Education Substitute Teacher. Giesselmann is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for her outstanding athletic accomplishments.
