Bio

The 1961 winner of the Petrow Award, Robert B. Frieze, ’62, was a business and education major active in football, basketball, baseball, and golf.  He was named a Little All-American in football and Nebraska College Athlete of the Year in 1961.  He went on to success in business, later achieving a national reputation in the field of thoroughbred racing.  He has been one of the top ten jockey agents in the country for the past six years.  His success as a Midland athlete foreshadowed his success in the professional arena.  His coaches Dale Pennybaker and My Draemel were profound influences on Robert’s life: he calls them “my coaches and good friends.”  Robert Frieze, a winning athlete, successful businessman, and friend of Midland, honors Midland through his representation in the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame.
