Bio

Members of the "Little Giants" Football Team are inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for their outstanding athletic achievements during the 1941 football season. Under the guidance of former coach William "Speck" Nelson, '38, the "Little Giants" recorded an undefeated season for the first time in Midland College's history during the 50th anniversary year of Midland football. Winning nine straight games during the season, the "Little Giants" laid claim to the Nebraska College Athletic Conference (NCAC) title, state college championship, and national mythical Lutheran college crown. The team received national attention and was featured in such publications as the New York Times which carried at least four separate stories about the Midland team.
