Bio
James Flynn, '62, was a three-sport athlete at Midland from 1958-62. In football, Flynn played quarterback in 1958, '60, and '61. In 1959, Flynn played wide receiver, setting a school record for receptions in a game with 9. In the newly formed Tri-State Conference in 1960, Flynn guided MLC to a 2nd place finish and their first winning season since 1941. He then led the Warriors to a conference championship in 1961. As a quarterback, Flynn earned all-conference honors in '60 and '61 as well as All-America honors in '61. On the basketball court, Flynn helped MLC win back-to-back Tri-State Conference championships in 1961 and 1962 and helped them earn a berth into the NAIA playoffs both years. In four years on the tennis court, Flynn was a member of three conference championship teams. Individually, he won a total of four conference doubles championships and two conference singles championships. In 1961, he qualified for the NAIA championships in Kansas City. Flynn is employed by the Louisville Public Schools, Louisville, Nebraska, as an elementary principal. He is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
