Bio
Jef Field served as the Head Baseball Coach at Midland from 1995-2012. Coach Field coached in a total of 856 games, posting a career record of 402-453-1. He was named Conference Coach of the Year in 1997, 1998, and 2001. Under Coach Field’s leadership, the Warriors earned regular season championships in 1998 and 2006 and they won conference tournament championships in 1997, 2001, and 2006. In 1998 and 1999, Midland advanced to the Regional Tournament Championship game, finishing runner-up both years. Overall, Coach Field guided Midland to twelve 20-or-more win seasons, including an impressive 42-win season in 2006 – a school record until 2014. He had the privilege of coaching over 30 1st and 2nd Team All-Conference players during his career at Midland. Coach Field earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Northern State University (SD) in 1983 and he earned his Master’s Degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, with an emphasis in Psychology, from South Dakota State University in 1993. Coach Field continues to work at Midland University as a faculty member in the College of Human Performance. He lives in Fremont and has two children: Baylee and Barry. Jef Field is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding service and dedication to Midland Athletics.
