Bio

Todd Ferguson, ’65, played an integral role on the cross country and indoor and outdoor track teams while a student at Midland.  In cross country, Todd was a member of the Tri-State Champion team from 1961-1964.  During those four years of Tri-State competition, he received two first places and two second places.  In track, he set school records in the mile, two-mile and two-mile relay.  After graduating, Todd joined the Marine Corps and set the Navy Pre-Fight Training cross country record in 1965.  He also founded and ran for the Alabama-Florida Track Club (AL-FL).  While he attended California State University in Fullerton for graduate school, he helped coach the University’s cross country and track teams.  He was a member of the Athletes in Action track team from 1970-80 and was part of their first two National Championship racing teams.  Todd had Olympic aspirations in the 3,000-meter steeplechase but missed qualifying for the Trials by seven seconds. He has taught science and economics and coached cross country, track, football, and basketball at the junior high and high school levels.  He is inducted into the Midland Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic achievements.
