Bio
Ann Gramkow Epler, ‘06, was a standout in Track and Field at Midland, establishing herself as one of the premier throwers in Midland history. At the conclusion of her career at Midland, Ann was a 4 time All-American in Indoor Track in the Shot Put (3rd in ’04 and 2nd in ’06) and the Weight Throw (2nd in ’05 and 4th in ’06). She was also a 4 time All-American in Outdoor Track in the Discus (2nd in ’04), the Shot Put (5th in ’04 and 6th in ’05), and the Hammer Throw (4th in ’06). At the conference level, Ann earned All GPAC honors a total of 12 times (5 Indoor and 7 Outdoor), including 6 conference individual championships (Indoor Weight Throw in ’05 and ‘06, Indoor Shot Put in ’06, Outdoor Shot Put in ’04, and Outdoor Discus in ’04 and ’06). Ann holds school records in the Indoor Shot Put (46’2”), the Outdoor Shot Put (46’7 ¾”), the Hammer Throw (171’10”), and the Discus (156’3”). She earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2005 and 2006. Ann earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Midland in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Science in 2006. She earned her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane University in 2011. From 2006-2015, she taught science courses at Treynor Public Schools in Treynor, IA. Ann and her husband, Scott, live in Brock, NE and they have three children: Daniel, Samuel, and Sarabeth. Ann Gramkow Epler is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for her outstanding athletic accomplishments.
