Bio

Brian Epke, ’00, was a standout in baseball at Midland from 1996-2000.  A three-time 1st Team All-Conference recipient in 1998, 1999, and 2000, Brian ranks in the top 10 in Midland history in Hits (175), RBI (111), Put Outs (887), Hit by Pitch (29) and Fielding Percentage (.974). In 1999, Brian hit a career-high .366 and recorded 35 RBI.  A four-year starter at catcher, Brian started every game at Midland until an injury sidelined him for portions of his senior year.  In 1997, Brian helped guide Midland to their first-ever post-season tournament appearance.  Known throughout the conference and the region in college for his defensive abilities behind the plate, Brian signed a free-agent contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks of  Major League Baseball, advancing as far as AAA before retiring.  Brian graduated from Midland in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Recreation.  He is currently employed with Learjet in Wichita, Kansas, as a Design and Industrial Engineer in Methods and Materials at the Bombardier Flight Test Center (BFTC).  Brian and his wife, BrieAnne, live in Wichita with their two sons, Brody and Brock.  Brian Epke is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
