Bio

Shannon Elwood, '99, was a standout in Baseball at Midland. Shannon helped lead the Warrior Baseball program to a Conference Tournament Championship in 1997, a Conference Regular Season Championship in 1988, and to a berth in the Regional Championship game in 1998 and 1999. From 1996-2013, Shannon held school records in a season for At-Bats (193) and Hits (72). He currently holds the school record in a season for Triples (7), Stolen Bases (40), and Fielding Percentage (1.000). Additionally, Shannon currently holds school records in a career for Triples (22), Total Bases (348), Runs (182), Stolen Bases (95), and Walks (92). He earned First Team All-Conference honors in 1998 and Honorable Mention All-Conference honors in 1999. Shannon had a career batting average of .337, recording 219 hits in 649 at-bats. He produced 96 career RBIs. Shannon graduated from Midland in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry in 2003 with a Doctor of Optometry. He is the owner of the Doctor of Optometry for Definitive Vision. Shannon and his wife, Leigh, live in Bennington, NE with their three children. Shannon Elwood is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
