Bio
Amy Doerr, ’83, played an integral role on the cross country and indoor and outdoor track teams while a student at Midland. In cross country, Amy was a conference and district champion from 1981-82 and was named All-American from 1980-82 and Scholar All-American in 1982. Amy respectively placed 8th, 20th, and 24th at the national competition. She was named Most Valuable Player for three consecutive years, from 1980-83. In indoor and outdoor track, Amy was named All-American and Academic All-American from 1981-83. After graduation, Amy continued running shorter races and marathons. She ran the Boston Marathon in 1992 and has recently qualified to run in the 100th Boston Marathon in April of 1996. Amy is currently the manager of corporate communications for Henningson, Durham, & Richardson, Inc., based in Omaha. Amy was a member of the Midland Alumni Board of Directors for eight consecutive years, a member of the Alumni Eventing Committee, and received the Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 1994. Amy is inducted into the Midland Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for her outstanding athletic and professional achievements.
