Karla Christensen Curran, '88, participated in cross country and indoor and outdoor track during her Midland career. She was ranked the number 1 cross country runner on the Midland team in 1983, 1984, and 1986. Curran was a NIAC Champion and NAIA District Champion in cross country and track. She was a member of the Distance Medley Relay Team which placed first at the NAIA Indoor Nationals in 1984 and 1985, setting a national record. Curran also held individual Midland records in the mile, 2-mile, 3-mile, 1500 meters, 3000 meters, 5000 meters, and 10,000 meters. She earned All-American honors. Curran continues to participate in road runs and works in Wahoo as a part-time physical education instructor and substitute teacher. She is inducted into the Midland Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for her outstanding athletic achievements.
