In addition to winning the High Jump at the League Finals in '61, Larry also won the Mile Run, finished 2nd in the 880-yard run, and ran a leg on the Mile Relay team that finished 3rd. At the Drake Relays in '61, Larry finished in 3rd place in the High Jump behind Olympian John Thomas. In league competition during his junior and senior seasons, he was undefeated in the High Jump. He was selected to the Nebraska All-State Track and Field Team in '61 in the High Jump. Larry retired from teaching high school full-time after a distinguished 47-year career. He continues to be an Adjunct Instructor at Santa Ana College. Larry graduated from Midland in 1961 with a Bachelor's Degree in English Education. He earned his Master's Degree in School Administration from Chapman University in 1972. Larry and his wife Sandra live in Anaheim Hills, CA. They have 2 children, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Lawrence L.
