Bio

Kim Carson, ’81 was a very successful athlete while participating in intercollegiate basketball and tennis at Midland.  In basketball, she was voted Most Valuable Player for one year and team captain for two years.  She received All-Conference honors for two years and All-Regional and All-State honors for one year.  Kim is also a member of the 1,000 Point Club, scoring 1,006 points and, in 1981, was named Outstanding Woman Athlete.  In tennis, Kim was named Most Valuable Player for one year, playing number one in singles and doubles.  She was the assistant women’s basketball coach at Midland from 1982-84 and head women’s tennis coach during the 1983-84 season.  She has been a business instructor and coach at York Public Schools for the past ten years and has coached girl’s basketball, girl’s and boy’s tennis, and volleyball.  Kim still finds time to participate in tennis, volleyball, and basketball leagues.  She is inducted into the Midland Athletic Hall of Fame for her excellence as a Midland athlete and her career success as an instructor and coach.
