Bio

Nate Bunton, ’06, was a standout in Baseball at Midland from 2003-2006.  As a pitcher, Nate earned NAIA Honorable Mention All-American honors in 2006 when he recorded a season record of 13-3 on the mound.  He also recorded 1 save.  For the season, Nate pitched 9 complete games, had a 2.02 ERA, and registered 117 strikeouts.  He helped guide Midland to a 42-15 overall record and a 20-2 GPAC record in ’06 and he helped guide Midland to the GPAC regular season championship and the GPAC tournament championship.  For his career, Nate pitched 259 2/3 innings and he recorded an overall record of 23-20, a 3.12 ERA, and a total of 277 strikeouts.  He notched 18 complete games and appeared in a total of 53 games - 39 as a starter.  He currently holds the school record for wins in a season (13), innings pitched in a season (102 1/3), and strikeouts in a season (117).  He also holds the career record at Midland for ERA (3.12) and he ranks in the top 5 at Midland in career wins and career strikeouts.  Nate earned 1st Team All-GPAC honors in 2005 and 2006 and 1st Team All-Region honors in 2006.  He earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2005 and 2006 and he was selected the Petrow Award Winner at Midland in 2006.  In June 2006, Nate was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 38th round of the Major League Baseball Draft.  He spent two seasons in the minor leagues with Burlington and Mahoney Valley, recording a 1-2 record in 35 games.  He also recorded 11 saves and had a 3.46 ERA.  Nate earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Math and Computer Science in 2006. He is currently the Manager of Enterprise Software Development at CSG.  Nate and his wife, Jessica, live in Omaha with their two children:  Carter and Alayna.  Nate Bunton is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
