Bio

An outstanding athlete in basketball, Cheryl Brooks-Brown, ’79, majored in elementary education and currently serves as a Life Skills Teacher at Lawrence Hall Youth Services in Chicago.  While a Midland student, she led the Warrior team in nine categories during her sophomore year.  And at the end of Cheryl’s junior year, she was selected by the American Basketball Association of the United States of America to try out for a national team and was named one of the best small college players in the region.  Cheryl taught and coached basketball in the Omaha Public School system for nearly 10 years, and plays in recreational leagues in men’s and women’s divisions.  Cheryl is inducted into the Hall of Fame not only for her athletic achievements but also for her teaching talents.  She worked with developmentally disabled adults and teaches students with severe behavioral and emotional disorders.  Midland is honored to induct Cheryl Brooks-Brown into the Warrior Hall of Fame.
