Bio

An all-around athlete, Gerald Bartels, ’53, is inducted into the Warrior Hall of Fame for his outstanding accomplishments as a student-athlete. Not only did he participate in football, track, baseball, and intramural basketball while at Midland, but he also served as president of the Student Council and editor of the yearbook and student newspaper staff.  Gerald graduated cum laude from Midland.  He has served as president of the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce since 1983 and was instrumental in bringing the 1996 Summer Olympic Games to Atlanta.  Gerald is a member of Midland’s board of trustees and on the board of directors of the United States Chamber of Commerce.  It is for his athletic achievements and strong community spirit that Gerald Bartels is inducted into Midland College’s Warrior Hall of Fame.
