Bio

Named the outstanding athlete of his class, Donald Bartek represents the athletic excellence that characterized Luther College.  His accomplishments in football resulted in his being named to the Junior College All-American Team.  He completed his college career at Bethany College where he gained recognition in basketball.  His coaching success placed him among the top 10 in wins among Nebraska coaches.  He built a lifetime coaching record of 183 wins and 161 losses.  Three times he coached state tournament teams.  As an educator and influencer of youth, Don Bartek measures his success in guiding students to become responsible citizens.  Students and families in Weston, Osceola, Minden, Waverly, and Scribner are richer for having known and been coached by Don Bartek.  Children of the Barteks have become Midland College students. Each has demonstrated the standards and values by which their family lives.  As an athlete, teacher, coach, and parent, Don Bartek represents the ideals for which Midland Lutheran College stands.
