Heesch Picks Up GPAC Field Athlete of the Week Award

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced its women's indoor track & field athletes of the week for events held December 2-8, 2024. Maggie Heesch of Midland University garnered the GPAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor while Eliza McKown of Waldorf University was selected as the track athlete.

Heesch, a senior from Watertown, South Dakota, had a pair of top five placing at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic to open the indoor season. She was fourth in the weight throw (16.76m) and fifth in the shot put (13.34m). She reached the NAIA "B" Standard in the weight throw.
