Kucera Named National Field Athlete of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced its men's outdoor track and field athletes of the week for competitions from April 10-16, 2023. For the third time in the outdoor season, Midland University's Dylan Kucera has been named the NAIA Men's Field Athlete of the Week. He was chosen out of a pool of nominees from across the country.

Kucera, a senior from Fremont, Nebraska, had a pair of runner-up finishes over the weekend. On Friday, he took 2nd in the hammer throw at the Concordia Outdoor Invite, reaching an NAIA 'A' mark of 60.32m. The following day, he placed 2nd in the shot put at the Kansas Relays with a throw of 18.21m. He currently ranks 1st in the GPAC and NAIA in the shot put and ranks 1st in the GPAC and 3rd in the NAIA in the hammer throw.
