Bio

Kari Kramme Wragge, ’83, was a four-year letter winner in both track and basketball and an avid participant in intramurals at Midland.  In 1983, she was the outdoor National Heptathlon Champion.  Kari holds Midland track records in the heptathlon and 1600 meters relay, and in 1982 and 1983 was an Academic All-American in track and field.  She was named NIAC First Team All-Conference for four years and Kodak First Team All-District for one year, both in basketball.  Kari was named Most Valuable Player for two years and team captain for one year.  She was the first woman ever to receive the Nebraska State College “Athlete of the Year Award,” which was presented to her in 1983 by the Omaha World-Herald.  Also in 1983, she was named the Lincoln Journal Star Athlete of the Year.  Kari participated in the tryouts for the 1984 Olympic Basketball team.  She is inducted into the Midland Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of her tremendous accomplishments in Warrior athletics.
