Dr. Harold C. Rhea, '57, participated in football and track during his Midland years. He was co-captain of the football team in 1956 and captain of the track team in 1957. Dr. Rhea has gone on to achieve prominence in university athletics. When coach at Wake Forest University, he qualified runners for NCAA championship meets. He is active in the state, regional, and national health and physical education association. For the past 15 years, he has organized and administered track and field events for the Indiana Special Olympics. He continues to compete regularly in track and cycling events. As a stand-out athlete, a dedicated teacher and coach, and a committed community supporter, Harold C. Rhea exemplifies the highest ideals of the Hall of Fame.
