Bio

An outstanding athlete, Patricia Schmidt Platt, '79, was a starter on the Midland Lady Warrior basketball team all four years of her college career. In 1979, she was named female athlete of the year and received the John Prauner Senior Award. In addition to teaching elementary, and high school physical education, and being a guidance counselor, coaching has been a big part of her life since graduation. She was named a conference basketball coach of the year in 1982. Her basketball team placed second in the Wyoming State Tournament and her volleyball team placed third in the state in three years. She was aquatic director in 1986 and North Central Co-chairman at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, Wyoming. Her work with the Special Olympics, Red Cross, and church demonstrates that she embodies the values of Midland Lutheran College and the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame.
